Recruiter, Blogger, Outreach Director, DC Sports Fan, Nonprofiteer, Jayson Werth Gnome
My name is Tracy Tran and I’m a guy and I’m not a porn star (I wish, but that’s for a different story). I was born and raised, and still live in Fairfax, Virgina, although I’m trying to escape up north as far as…Arlington, Virginia.
Professionally, I am working for an outsourcing healthcare firm sourcing the best talent out there. I have been in recruiting for ten years sourcing, networking, interviewing, negotiating, and advising hiring managers on who to look for. I have recruited for many different sectors from nonprofits, consulting firm, government contracting, tech, media, and others from a variety of positions from executives, directors, interns, senior-level, mid-level, and entry-level positions. I also dealt with job boards currently with NatsJobs, which is an unique and interactive job board during Washington Nationals games, and creating my own job board to help recruiters and hiring managers to update their job posting.
On a personal level, I’m a huge D.C. Sports fan (probably 1 of 10 people in the DC area that are natural DC sports fans). I think hockey is the greatest sport to watch, but baseball is the greatest experience to be part of. I hate driving, but love to take a walk and go use public transportation. I am also a blogger on many topics, including HR, recruiting, DC Sports, Tony Kornheiser, and pop culture, many others. I have been on the list in the “Top 100 HR and Recruiting Pros to follow on Twitter” by Unbridled Talent and was named a top 10 finalist for the Washington Post’s “Greatest DC Sports Fan.” My tweets, photos, and posts have been on ESPN, NHL Network, NBC4, NewsChannel 8, The Washington Post, and Ted’s Take. In addition, you probably know me as one of Tony Kornheiser E-mailers and know most episodes of Ed are. On a side note, I had lunch with Mike Rizzo, Jayson Werth touch my fake beard, I hugged Lisa Loeb, took a picture with Bradley Beal, have a burger named after me, have free admission and parking tickets to Celebrate Fairfax for the rest of my life, and on dating sites, if you’re that desperate.
I’m observant and open to anything, yet shy in person since I’m not the greatest at conversation starters. I am a fan of:
- Tony Kornheiser (for those wondering, my url is based on Mr. Tony’s email address and the fan page.)
- Public Media
- Lisa Loeb
- D.C. Sports
- Eclectic stuff
I am spiritual and religious, yet love the oddities that surround me. Finally…I’m a dope.
Other than that, just go to my social profiles to learn more if you must. My door is always open. Give me a call, write an email, follow me and let’s talk.
